Growth Fund Partner
Marek Kiisa (born 1968) is a BaltCap Growth Fund Partner. He is also the Managing Partner of Astrec Invest, a private equity and venture capital company founded in 2006. Prior to that, he worked as the Senior Executive of the Swedish listed company Scanditron (owned by ElektronikGruppen) and Finnish technology company Oy Scantarp AB.
Marek is currently participating in the Supervisory Boards of the following companies: Astrec Baltic (telecom), Eesti Ekspress AS (media) and Astrec Data (data center). He is a member of the Kauffman Fellowship Society in the United States and one of the founders of the EstBAN Business Angels in Estonia and NordBAN network of Business Angels in the Nordics.
Marek has an eMBA degree from Estonian Business School and a Master's degree from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
BaltCap together with minority shareholders sells 100% of the shares in Magnetic MRO to Guangzhou Hangxin Aviation Technology (“Hangxin”) for €43 million (equity value). Magnetic MRO is a full-service aircraft maintenance company headquartered in Tallinn.
BaltCap Infrastructure Fund (BInF) has aquired 75% of Anaerobic Holding shares for €9.45 million. Anaerobic Holding owns and operates three biogas plants in Latvia with a total installed capacity of 4.9MW.
Estonian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (ESTVCA) has elected BaltCap partner Kristjan Kalda as a new Chairman. The new Management Board was elected for the next 2 years.
